Golf Facilities Support

Golf (REK Center)
The Furman women's program has been among the nation's elite for many years, winning 13 Southern Conference championships and the 1976 national title. The men's program has enjoyed much success as well, with 12 league titles. To maintain and build on such success, the university plans a strategic investment to upgrade the teams' practice facilities, including a new short-game practice area and an expansion of the REK Center for Intercollegiate Golf.
REK Short Game Facility Complete
Thanks to your generosity, Phase 1 of the REK Center revitalization is complete, including the construction of a new short-game facility and renovated putting greens now being used by Furman's golf teams. The facility opened on the first day of classes and can be utilized as a competitive Par 3 or as an individual skill development resource.
"The facility is already helping to attract players. It is definitely one of the best short game facilities in the country and is designed exclusively for our players." - Coach Kelly Hester
"There is no excuse not to get better with this facility. Any shot inside 200 yards can be practiced, and the best part is that it is right on campus." - Coach Todd Satterfield
Phase II will focus on the expansion of the REK Center and Proposed Learning Center. The total cost for golf project: $1.32 million.
