Fuel Furman 2015

Fuel Furman

Donations of any size can make a big impact on the student experience.

When it comes to raising funds that support Furman students, every dollar counts. Fuel Furman is a crowd-funding platform organized by the Development Office and the Student Government Association that gives our alumni and parents the opportunity to fund student projects that will positively impact the Furman community. Through support based on micro-philanthropy principles (similar to Kickstarter), students discover the power of the Furman network, and donors see the tangible difference their gifts make.

FUEL 2015 Projects

After a competitive application review process, a group of alumni, students, and administrators selected four projects to receive Fuel fundraising assistance in 2015. Fundraising ended April 1. Please check below to see how much individual projects raised.

Save our Bikes: Coverings for Bike Racks

Together with the Physics Department and the Shi Center for Sustainability, students seek funding to design and build coverings for on-campus bike racks to combat the elements and to encourage green transit.

  • Makery space

    The Makery Project: Community Collaboration

The Furman Art Department, Furman Creative Collaborative, and The Maker's Club seek funding to furnish and upfit a flexible hub that will bridge the gap between campus and community.
