Basketball Facility Enhancement Fund
A renovation to the game venue and program space will dramatically transform the game day experience for our loyal fans and students, while giving Furman one of the best arenas in mid-major basketball and beyond. Renovating the existing basketball facilities will make an immediate impact on recruiting and retention of talent, while demonstrating the university's commitment to positioning basketball and drive prestige and national brand recognition for the institution. Further, the investment in the arena renovation will allow Furman Athletics to emphasize revenue generation and philanthropy as key pillars to long term financial success.
Using the existing structure, the interior of the arena will be demolished and reimagined. The competition court will be centered in the arena, surrounded by bowl seating for up to 2,750 fans. Loge seating will be added on the concourse level to further diversify premium seating options, and the bowl will be overlooked by a premium suite level to enable Furman to drive revenue and offer the elevated entertainment opportunity our top donors and partners expect. In addition, new courtside seating and a private VIP lounge will provide an exclusive experience for our top supporters. A 360-degree concourse will feature improved concessions, a hospitality deck, and a student lounge - all with sightlines that keep fans in the game at all times.
An expansive new arena facade will create a first-impression for fans and recruits that exudes excellence and boldly demonstrates Furman's commitment to being an elite Division I program. The new facade will be framed by an enlarged pedestrian plaza, creating opportunities for entertainment and activation for Furman basketball, football, and other campus and community events. A new arena entrance will give way to a large space for engagement and hospitality, as well as a new lobby with reimagined, state-of-the-art Hall of Fame. The energy and experience of game days will be transformed well before fans find their seats.
