Furman Showcase "Back to Class, Without the Homework"

On April 15th, over 750 Furman Alumni, parents, friends, and fans gathered to launch Clearly Furman. Now, we are visiting cities across the US to paint the town purple and to showcase some of Furman's amazing faculty and staff!!
 
"Back to Class without the Homework" features remarks by Shaniece Criss, Associate Professor of Health Sciences; Director of Master of Arts in Advocacy and Equity Studies, and Jason Donnelly, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics.
 
Shaniece Criss will share student experiences from tracking health equity on Twitter to providing health education in tribal villages abroad. The goal of health equity is for everyone to have the opportunity to attain their highest level of health. Through the Furman Advantage, our students learn, research, and experience health equity in action. Public health courses teach the foundations, professors publish peer-reviewed journal articles with students, and the May X program is a conduit for students to work in healthcare systems in the U.S., Portugal, and Cambodia. 

Jason Donnelly will share Furman's utilization of Division I athletics as a strategy to drive prestige at Furman. Division I athletics is more than a game. Division I athletics is a tremendous asset and part of an institutional strategy that directly impacts Furman’s brand and prestige. Furthermore, it is a catalyst for alumni and community engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion, financial sustainability, revenue generation, and so much more.
 
 
Please note that this event is not suitable for children under 16 years of age.
Also, the animals will have been "put to bed" and not available for viewing. 
 The ballroom is adjacent to the elephant's area, so we hope to catch a glimpse of them throughout the evening!
