Join us for breakfast and experience The Furman Advantage in action on March 28 with the next installment of the Furman Business Series in Columbia. Learn how the Medical Legal Partnership (MLP) formally connects Furman University, Prisma Health, and South Carolina Legal Services to work to improve health outcomes for people throughout the Upstate, especially those living in poverty. The partnership—the first of its kind in South Carolina—coordinates and streamlines access to non-medical assistance when a medical problem has roots in or is made worse by a social or legal problem. Currently, the South Carolina MLP is the only one in the country—and there are nearly 300 of them, in 41 states—in which the educational institution involved is a liberal arts, undergraduate institution.
Come hear stories of community impact directly from the key players in the MLP and what you can do as a Furman alumni to increase awareness and support of the program. As well as develop professional connections with fellow Furman alumni and parents through dedicated networking time.
