Save the date for HOMECOMING 2017, OCTOBER 20-22!
We can’t believe that it has been five years since we walked across the stage in Paladin Stadium and graduated from Furman University. Now we have the chance to reconvene and celebrate our memories we forged together and catch-up on our lives since we headed our separate ways. Just in case the thought of seeing your “O-Mance” Sweetheart scares you, here are a few other reasons you should attend:
- You will have a reason to visit Greenville, which is one of the top cities in the world right now (on the same list as Slovenia; Chengdu, China; and Finland). You will also have a reason to visit TR (Travelers Rest), which is one of America’s best small towns!
- Furman has a new president since we graduated and she’s doing some amazing work to improve Furman’s competitive position both for current students and alumni through the Furman Advantage program.
- As much as Furman has changed, it is still one of the most beautiful campuses in the world!
- And lastly, who doesn’t want to come home to Furman? Finally, we get a reunion of our own!
To reconnect, our class will host a reception at Pour Taproom on Saturday, October 21 from 6 - 8 p.m., which boasts the most unique selection of beer and wine in Greenville.
This will be a fun and hip event full of laughter, memories, nostalgia, and good company. Furman will provide us with hors d’ouevres. Dress is casual. Drinking is encouraged.
On Saturday afternoon, October 21, the Alumni Association will host the Homecoming Tailgate in Reunion Village (in front of Furman Hall). This is a phenomenal event for catching up with friends, classmates, and professors. Homecoming exists so you can come back, relish the old, and celebrate all that’s new.
In addition, the University is planning an array of activities from which you might choose. Details will arrive in August. Events specifically for the Class of 2012 are being arranged by a small group of your classmates and include:
