Special greetings to the Class of 1992!
Mark your calendars for the weekend of October 20-22 to celebrate our 25th Reunion! Can you believe it is already time for this milestone weekend? Has it really been 25 years since we walked across the stage in Paladin stadium? Excited that we did indeed have enough CLPs to graduate?
So much has changed since we left campus:
- The Furman campus has continually expanded and improved – No longer do upperclassmen get to experience the wonderful off campus accommodations of Court Ridge and Woodwinds, since they all have on campus apartments where they don’t even share a bedroom. Two more academic buildings have joined the campus in addition to the chapel, more athletic facilities, and major renovations. Who would have ever imagined a bar in the student center?
- The community around Furman has changed dramatically – If you have not been back to Greenville yet to see the Swamp Rabbit Trail behind Furman, it is amazing how one bike and walking trail has transformed and changed an area so much. Every community along the trail has seen development, but we think Travelers Rest has been one of the biggest winners. Just a few minutes from campus, enjoy all types of original restaurants and a relaxing ride or walk.
- Downtown Greenville has exploded – If you haven’t seen the headlines about Greenville yet, we have been awarded all sorts of titles about how fun, exciting, and delicious our city is. Whether you are looking for seriously good food, a night out on the town, or outdoor adventures, Greenville has it all! (Don’t forget to book your hotel because they fill up fast!)

However, some things haven’t changed… our class is still full of great friendships and wonderful memories of our adventures at Furman together… and it would be amazing to reconnect and catch up on how our lives have changed since graduation.
Like Homecomings in the past, Friday night is the
Carnival on the Mall! Come out, walk around, and run into friends! Also that night, classmate Amy Henderson will be playing guitar and singing at The Pumphouse Grill just down from campus on Poinsett Hwy.
Saturday morning before the game, enjoy the new
Alumni Tailgate and Reunion Village where a central location on the mall makes it easy to reconnect with friends, classmates and professors. Saturday evening, our class will have a
special reunion event at the Pergola at the Hyatt Hotel. There will be appetizers and a cash bar, but most importantly a time to reconnect with just our class! Dress will be casual and it is a drop-in so you can work it around other social events too.
And some of the best news yet about our weekend…
IDIOM SAVANT, the student comedy troupe, is having a reunion show too for their silver anniversary!
"The Final Final Show" will feature original Idiom Savant cast members Andy Coe ('91), Laura Putney ('92), Jerry Salley ('90), and Chris White ('92) reprising several old sketches and introducing a few more. Right after our class event, we can stroll through downtown to their performance at the Velo Fellow at 8:30. Tickets are limited and will be available for advance purchase

The Furman on Main After-Party will be right next door to enjoy after the show!

You can plan a full weekend of Furman events as well as exploring Greenville with your friends! We look forward to seeing everyone and we hope this will be a memorable weekend for all of us!
The University is planning an array of activities from which you might choose and events specifically for the Class of ’92 are being arranged by a small group of your classmates. Details for the weekend are included below for your review.
