Greetings to the Class of 1987:

Mark your calendar for HOMECOMING 2017, OCTOBER 20-22!  It's time to celebrate our 30th reunion.  Yes, it’s been 30 years since we graduated from Furman and although we can’t possibly be that old, it is time to have fun and visit with our old friends.  Homecoming weekend festivities will allow time for the Class of 1987 to get together, renew our friendships, and find out what’s happening with you!  Our class will host a special event Saturday, October 21 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown.  There will be a cash bar, hors d'oeuvres, and a meeting place so everyone can get together to socialize.  

In addition to our special event on Saturday evening, Homecoming weekend provides lots of opportunities for us to be together.  On Saturday afternoon, October 21, the Alumni Association will host lunch at the Alumni Tailgate and Reunion Village on the Furman Mall. We will have designated seating for our class and other classes celebrating a reunion and we can also sit together at the football game.  Watch the mail for the reunion brochure with registration and pricing information in late August and join our Facebook group today, “Furman Class of 1987 Reunion”.  It is more fun if everyone comes so be sure to call your friends and tell them they have to come!!

The University is planning an array of activities from which you might choose. Details will arrive in August.  Events specifically for the Class of 1987 are being arranged by a small group of your classmates and include: 

Friday, October 20

7 - 11p.m.	Float building and Family Friendly Carnival on the Furman Mall
8 p.m.	Bonfire

Saturday, October 21

11:00 a.m.	Department Drop-ins, Furman Mall
11 – 1 p.m.	Alumni Tailgate and Reunion Village, Furman Mall (Near McAlister Circle)
1:30 p.m.	Furman vs. Mercer Football Game
6 – 8 p.m.	Class of 1987 Cocktail Reception at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Greenville, Lobby Lounge
8:30 - 11:30 p.m.	Furman on Main – The Official After-Party. Ink N Ivy, 21 E Coffee Street, Downtown Greenville ($5 includes two drink tickets and appetizers.)

• Contact your friends from the class of ’87 to make sure they are planning to be there.
• Listen to your class reunion playlist.
