Class of 1977 - 40th Reunion
Homecoming 2017, October 20 - 22

Dear Friends from the Class of '77,

"The Way We Were" was the number one movie when we began at Furman. We were merely teenagers when we first drove through the gates but we left there as adults. It is time to remember, "the way we were" with the folks who saw us through those years. Yes, we are all forty years older, and maybe forty pounds heavier but do not let that be your excuse for staying away. Our hair may be grey or gone, we may be single or divorced, we may be wrinkled or empty nesters but we are survivors. Come visit with those Paladin friends who saw us through those years. When we see each other, the years fall away and we are all young again. We will have nametags with our college pictures so no awkward moments when you forget a name or face.

The best way to make a reunion fun is to invite your special friends via call, email, text or Facebook. If you are worried about someone missing the reunion plan, please encourage them to contact Furman to update their address, etc. ONLY the alumni member himself can communicate to Furman as to his/her most current information.

FORTY is the perfect reunion year to come back to Furman because first, you are still alive, second, you probably have no more children to supervise at home, and third, you appreciate your classmates for reasons other than their career, looks or status! By now, we know what matters and friends from those glorious FU days become cherished. You don't need a date for this day but you do need to save the dates of October 20 – 22 on your calendar.

The alumni department has created a wonderful way to see everyone on the Furman Mall, in front of the Furman Hall.   The tailgate luncheon and department drop-ins will all be held here with a trolley available to take us to the game. What is lovelier than a perfect fall day at Furman with the leaves turning those beautiful colors and the mountains in the background?!

The University is planning an array of activities from which you might choose. Details will arrive in August.  Events specifically for the Class of ’77 are being arranged by a small group of your classmates and include:
