Class of 1967 - 50th Reunion
Homecoming 2017, October 20 - 22

Greetings Class of 1967,

In 1963 over 200 starry-eyed, hesitant, uncertain, intimidated freshmen arrived on the Furman campus to begin a life-changing journey toward self-awareness against a backdrop of trees, sky and lake.

Fifty years later that “mountain city” calls us home to celebrate, commemorate and remember the joys, the disappointments and the triumphs of surviving those challenging and exhilarating years. Now is the time to “rally sons and daughters true” and once again touch the shining star of possibilities – rekindle connections and enjoy the beauty of Furman in the fall.

As Alfred, Lord Tennyson once wrote: “Though much is taken, much abides; and though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are…”

So, mark your calendars for the class of 1967’s Fiftieth Reunion – October 20 - 22. The University is planning an array of activities from which you might choose. Details will arrive in August. Events specifically for the Class of ’67 are being arranged by a small group of your classmates and include: 

Friday, October 20

3 – 5:00 p.m.	Golden Paladin Reception, Herring Center for Continuing Education
6:00 – 7:30 p.m.	50th Cocktail Reception at White Oaks with President Davis, Parking and Shuttle from Younts
8 p.m.	Gathering at the home of Ed and Peggy Good 1721 North Main, Greenville, 29609

Saturday, October 21

11:00 a.m.	Department Drop-ins, Furman Mall
11 – 1 p.m.	Alumni Tailgate and Reunion Village, Furman Mall
1:30 p.m.	Furman vs. Mercer Football Game
4:30 p.m. – until	50th Reunion Reception, Melvin and Dollie Younts Conference Center in Shaw Hall
8:30 - 11:30 p.m.	Furman on Main – The Official After-Party. Ink N Ivy, 21 E Coffee Street, Downtown Greenville ($5 includes two drink tickets and appetizers.)

Sunday, October 22 

9 a.m.

50th Reunion Farewell Breakfast, Tommy's Ham House. Join classmates for the quintessential Greenville breakfast experience. Register through class reunion registration below.  Dutch Treat, please register.  (If you can't visit Tommy's, you can also enjoy breakfast in the Furman Dining Hall.)
