Class of 1962 - 55th Reunion
Homecoming 2017, October 20 - 22

REUNION:  The weekend that returns every five years reappears for our class of ’62 in October.

Fifty-five years have shown us the true education we gained at Furman...the importance of being sensitive to the feelings of others…the intellectual curiosity that drives us to keep learning…the format for analyzing and planning the accomplishment of a task…the conviction that if we passed that exam, we can do anything!

When we left Furman 55 years ago confidently fortified with our individual portfolios of knowledge, we departed with an innocence of what life to come would bring.  War, illness, accidents and death have thinned our ranks.  But as Dr. Stewart reminded us at one of our earlier reunions, nothing can take away the experiences we had at Furman and the memories that bind.

More than a gathering, our reunion will be the renewal of old friendships, revival of our youthful spirit, and recollections of what brought us together. 

The University is planning an array of activities from which you might choose. Details will arrive in August.  Events specifically for the Class of ’62 are being arranged by a small group of your classmates and include:

Friday, October 20

3 – 5 p.m.	Golden Paladin Reception, Herring Center for Continuing Education
7 - 11 p.m.	Float building and Family Friendly Carnival on the Furman Mall
8 p.m.	Bonfire

Saturday, October 21

11:00 a.m.	Department Drop-ins, Furman Mall
11 – 1 p.m.	Alumni Tailgate and Reunion Village, Furman Mall
1:30 p.m.	Furman vs. Mercer Football Game
5:30 – 8:00 p.m.	Class of 1962 Cocktail Reception and Dinner, Melvin and Dollie Younts Conference Center
8:30 - 11:30 p.m.	Furman on Main – The Official After-Party. Ink N Ivy, 21 E Coffee Street, Downtown Greenville ($5 includes two drink tickets and appetizers.)
