Blending lots of time to explore the quirky Icelandic capital of Reykjavík with the very best of the country’s fascinating natural sights – whale-watching in Akureyri, the lava formations of Dimmuborgir, the stunning fjords and glaciers near Höfn, and the hot springs and waterfalls of the Golden Circle, just to name a few – you’ll be stunned at just how much amazingness fits into such a short stretch of time.

Day 1-Reykjavík

Arrive at any time.

Day 2-Reykjavík/Akureyri

Drive to Akureyri, stopping for lunch at a local cantina. Explore the town before an included whale-watching tour in the evening.

Day 3-Akureyri/Borgarfjörður

Stop at Goðafoss Waterfall en route to Mývatn Lake. Explore lava formations of Dimmuborgir and the geothermal area of Námaskarð. Visit Dettifoss Waterfall before arriving in Borgarfjörður for a night in a local guesthouse.

Day 4-Borgarfjörður/Höfn

Leave beautiful Borgarfjörður behind and travel down the coast driving through the beautiful and majestic eastern fjords. En route to Höfn, stop at Vatnajökull glacier, the largest ice cap in Europe.

Day 5-Höfn/Vík í Mýrdal

Visit the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, with a chance to see seals sun bathing on the bright blue ice. Opt to check out the lagoon by boat. Continue to Skaftafell National Park for an included glacier hike. Continue to Vík.

Day 6-Vík í Mýrdal/Reykjavík

Visit Reynisfjara Beach. Continue along the Golden Circle to Drumbo. Stop at the waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Explore the Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir Hot Springs and Þingvellir National Park. Arrive to Reykjavík in the early evening.
Meals included: Breakfast

Days 7–9 Reykjavík

Free day to explore the city and surrounding area. Opt to go whale watching, explore this quaint town, or get your adrenaline pumping on one of the many activities available around Reykjavík.
