Discovery…..Citizenship…..Opportunity These three words easily describe why many of us decided to send our sons and daughters to FurmanUniversity. We knew that Furman was the kind of place that would allow our children to discover their life’s passion and learn more about themselves. We knew that Furman would encourage them to take their place as a world citizen; seeing the big picture and acting locally to make a difference for others. Most importantly, we knew that Furman would open doors of opportunity for our students. Because Furman Matters, one of the largest campaigns ever conducted by a liberal arts college, is well underway at Furman. This is the first campaign in Furman’s history in which parents are collectively playing an instrumental role. Our goal is to contribute a total of $25 million toward the overall goal of $400 million. To date we have just over $17 million in total commitments. To track our progress click here.We hope that each parent of a Furman student will consider how they might support this historic and monumental effort. More than ever before, as parents, we have the chance not only to help shape our children’s experience but also that of future students—maybe even our grandchildren!
